Browning Gold Line Challenger .22 lr. Pistol circa 1974…three barrel set!
The base of this set is a factory original Gold Line Challenger with the customary 4 ½” barre. The collector was able find an original 6 1/2” barrel that he had Angelo Bee add the appropriate, and matching gold “wire”. Further hunting and shopping led the collector to 5 7/8” barrel that was factory marked the same as the 4 ½” and the 6 ½”, that he had engraver Rocky Capece add the gold “wire” to make this a three barrel matching set. Note that Angelo and Rocky signed their work under the “bridges). Making this set that much more unique is the 5 7/8” barrels were not offered in the USA. Most likely this is the only three-barrel Gold Line Challenger set ever made!
The set is housed in a Browning presentation case. The set remains in unfired condition after about 50 years of existence.
