Serial No. 33448, circa 1863-1865, .54 caliber, 21"" round barrel. Carbine is in an untouched condition, traces of original case coloring are visible in protected areas. Factory markings are present but faint in some areas. Stock has expected nicks, dings and marring. Right side of the butt stock has ""George Smith"" carved from the butt plate to the rear of the receiver. Left has ""1865-.15.MO:Co. H"" records show a George Smith was a private for the 15th Missouri Cavalry Co. H during the Civil War on the Union side. Bore has scattered areas of pitting in the grooves, rifling remains strong.
