Description:
Standard configuration Anciens Etablissements Pieper, as made for the Danish Military Contract, reworked/improved in 1921, with matching Trolite grips and correct magazine, this example with a Danish Arsenal replacement bolt. Single action locked breech pistol having 4” barrel having fixed front and rear sights. The left side of the barrel extension is marked by the manufacturer in Belgium, and references the Bergmann patent. Belgium proofs are on right side of frame, right side of barrel extension, and right side of the barrel. Serial number under the forward frame extension. Danish acceptance marking Crown/D on the left side of the frame; Danish issue number 2211 on right side of the frame. Rework/upgrade notation “M1910/21” marked on the left side of the frame, the improvements including a spanner screw used to secure the sideplate, and added pin in the upper forward portion of the trigger guard recess, and enlarged Trolite grips. As part of the rework, the bolt was replaced and marked with Danish crowns. Correct but unumbered magazine. Further disassembly was not effected. Major components rust blued; small parts either in the white or fired blued. Correct military holster dated "14" without accessories. Synopsis: Scarce Bergmann 1910/21, made by Anciens Etablissements Pieper, Danish Military Contract, Later reworked to have improved sideplate retention and larger Trolite grips complete with Holster. Condition: VG/EXC original blue. Small parts in comparable condition, the extractor having lost most of it's fire blue, other small parts with staining as pictured. Matching grips with handling marks but no significant chips, splits. Dull bore with easily discernable rifling. Perfect manual mechanics. VG holster with moderate crazing and oil darkening. Original stitching. One of the more unusual, low production, military semiautomatic pistols, this example an interesting rework with early grips and holster, made prior to WWII. ~~Insured shipping fee of $75; most packages shipped using FedEx 2nd Day.~~
