Payment Types Accepted: Personal Check or Money Order Description: This is a very rare Winchester 1897 that is completely described in the letter from the Cody Museum. Every thing is original except for the original Birdseye Maple stock described in the letter. The rear stock is missing. I do have the original Birdseye maple forend. When I bought the gun it came with an extra set of barrels not matched to the gun. But that extra set of barrels has the Birdseye forend. The forend comes with the sale but not the extra set of barrels. I also have a hand written letter from George Madis about this gun and how unusual the gun is. He believes the engraver is Gaugh in one part of the letter and then attributes the engraving to Stokes. He points out an 1895 Winchester that has similar engraving in his book entitled "The Winchester Book". In any event, this is a very rare gun. Take a look at the letter from Cody. Deluxe I added a photo of the original birdseye maple forarm. Buyer pays for shipping and insurance.
