WAR OF 1812 MARYLAND SURCHARGED WHITNEY MODEL 1798 FLINTLOCK MUSKET. 42” smoothbore .69 cal. barrel. Original flintlock non-reconversion Maryland contract musket with correct “MARYLAND” brand on right side of forend. 100% original with exception of the ramrod, barrel tang screw and center band which are aged replacements. Identical Whitney “MARYLAND” surcharged musket recently sold at in Virginia. Metal surfaces with heavy old and dark pitted patina overall attesting to it’s originality. Lock in working order. Stock in good condition with appropriate wear. War of 1812 Battle of Bladensburg and Fort McHenry era musket.
