Engraved Remington Model 95 Over/Under Derringer, #5866, .41 RF cal., 3" super-imposed barrels, low profile blade front and fixed rear sights, oscillating firing pin, nickel finish, two-piece checkered hard rubber grips, extractors, two-line barrel address on rib. Mfg'd 1870-1888. Derringer is in very good overall condition displaying the majority of an old re-nickeled finish with light pitting and surface erosion evident. There are areas of light oxidation with approx. 25%-30% coverage in light scroll engraving. Hammer and spur trigger are blued. Markings are soft with a portion of the two-line barrel address polished out and the serial numbers difficult to read. The number under the left grip is crisp and legible. Top of rib is marked "E. REMINGTON & SONS ILION. N.Y./ELLIOT'S PATENT DEC 12TH 1865". Grips are good with several small mars and flattening of checkering on both grips. Bores are poor with significant roughness and light pitting. Rifling is faint but visible. Action functions well with extractors, intact hinges showing no cracks and a secure lock up.
