This beautiful example could pass for new with the 22 magnum cylinder installed (mag cylinder never fired). The 22 LR cylinder appears to have been fired but very little. Finish is easily 98% throughout with only a very slight drag line on 22 LR cylinder. Perfect grips, frame, and brilliant case colors. Original box is included but in rough shape. Original markings on label are barely visible but still there. I did not want to alter the box in any way so chose not to re-ink the label markings.
The Colt Peacemaker .22 and New Frontier .22 were introduced in 1970 to replace the earlier Frontier Scout .22 revolvers. They are also related to the centerfire Colt Single Action Army and SAA New Frontier. The .22 rimfire caliber Peacemaker and New Frontier were .22 LR or convertible .22 LR/.22 Magnum (WMR) single action six-shooters. Both are discontinued. They were built on approximately 7/8 scale, color case hardened steel frames. LR cylinders were fluted, and the .22 WMR cylinders were not. Barrel lengths were 4.4 inches, 6 inches, and 7 1/2 inches. The Peacemaker .22 is the visual counter part of the regular Single Action Army. Its round top frame is similar in style and the front sight is a rounded blade. The barrel, cylinder, and ejector rod housing are blued steel. Grips are black plastic in the traditional Colt "American Eagle" pattern. The Peacemaker .22 and New Frontier .22's were produced continuously from 1970 until 1977. Additional photos upon request.
