Vintage Firearms Inc is pleased to offer this Krag 1898 which was officially modified by the National Rifle Association, these handy Carbines were offered for sale to the sporting public in August 1928. All NRA Krag 1898 Carbines were converted at the Benicia Arsenal, California. This fine example shows 98% bluing, the stock is in excellent condition with very few field marks, wood to metal fit is outstanding, a faint arsenal mark is still visible on the left wrist. The action functions smoothly with a 5lb trigger break. The 22” barrel has a perfect 10/10 bore with sharp rifling, the barrel mounts the correct Springfield Model 1903 blade front sight while the rear is a 1901 carbine model leaf sight sighted to 2000 yards, both features of the official NRA conversions. A unique carbine for hunting the woods and prairies of North America, and a must have for any Krag collection. Thanks for looking!
