Description:
This is truly a nice honest 1851 Navy, not mint, not abused, but showing just the proper amount of use and care. This example shows great original grips showing most of their factory varnish. The left side of the gun overall is slightly better than the right side. The left showing stronger case hardening and the barrel showing a very respectable amount of the original blue. The right side frame shows some case hardening mostly turning to natural silver patterns with some areas where color is showing through. The right side of the barrel has turned to a perfect untouched natural patina with some blue showing through slightly. The cylinder shows a nearly perfect and strong original cylinder scene. Mechanically works as it should when the hammer is pulled back, however when the trigger is pulled, the hammer gets a bit sticky halfway down but does continue to release properly by itself. This is a really nice Navy for the money. You'd be hard pressed to find another that's better then this for less money. On any premiere civil war dealers this gun would be priced at $5,500-6,500. Shipping is $25 plus actual insurance. Thanks!
