Description:
Serial #3470225, .30-06, 24" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. The receiver of this rifle was manufactured by Springfield in January of 1945, and the rifle itself has all correctly marked parts except for the trigger housing, which is, however, correct for December of 1944 production. The metal retains 90-92% of the original parkerized finish, with silvering and gray fading at the muzzle, gas port cylinder, along the exposed edges and projections, and on the bearing surfaces of the bolt and op-rod raceway. The walnut stock set is in fine condition, having minor scratches and handling marks in the armory reapplied military oil finish. Correct "S.A. / N.F.R." and Ordnance Department crossed cannons are present on the left side, and a 1945-dated canvas M1 sling is installed. This is a splendid looking Garand, made during the last year of the war, and is in fine-near excellent condition overall. FFL or C&R
