....SOLD.....just in from Europe August Schuler double rifle in 45-70. made in Suhl Germany by the Schuler company (can be Richard Schuler since he used the same name after August death) The rifle is in 89% condition with mirror bores and is extremely tight. Rare find as very few of these rifles were chambered in 45-70 government. Made in the fifties or early sixties this is not based on the Hercules model but rather a no frills plain strong working double that somebody ordered before the company closed down in 1969.
At almost 12 pounds with "shoe lumps" 24" chrome moly barrels and Greener bolt lock this rifle was made to withstand heavy loads. We test fired it with Buffalo Bore 350 gr. heavy loads and the gun grouped under 2-1/2" at 60 yards with very little recoil.
