FINE BELGIAN PERCUSSION TURN-BARREL SINGLE SHOT RETRACTABLE TRIGGER POCKET PISTOL CA. 1835-40. 4.5" o/a with 2” round rifled .44 cal. barrel with Liege black powder “rifle” proof at underside of breech and with a “1” stamp immediately beneath. Finest quality with checkered and carved bag shaped flat walnut grip and floral “PINEAPPLE AND VINE” engraved panels on both sides of the lock much in the style of Lepage, the great Parisian maker. No maker name typical of Liege makers with the bulk of their products going to Paris for sale by retailers who would often have their own names put on the guns. Excellent and all original. Working order and good bore. Very superior example of this type of pistol.
