Description:
This Beautiful SXS in 9,3x74r was manufactured in the city of Suhl in the state of Thuringia, Germany. The 9.3x74r most commonly used for Africa safari hunting uses a .366 diameter projectile. The cartridge has been favored as a continental alternative to the more popular .375 H&H Magnum More on Merkel: after WWII the production of hunting weapons commenced, and in 1952 the company became owned by the government of the German Democratic Republic (East Germany). After the reunification of Germany in 1990, the company went through modernisation, and in 2007 it was sold to the UAE company Caracal International which is a part of the state's owned EDGE Group. This particular rifle was made back when production was in Germany. On the left side of the receiver is a engraving of a caribou moving through foliage. The bottom has a merkel stamp as well as a smug looking lynx below the stamp. The right side of the receiver has a brown bear looking for his next meal. The rifle has a tang safety, a 23 1/2 inch barrel, and a walnut stock and forearm. 9.3x74R
