**SOLD**For consideration is a very nice and scarce PRE BAN (Mfg June 1993) Springfield M1A Bush Rifle in 7.62x51 NATO caliber. The classic. The ultimate icon. The legendary hero. Descended from the M14 rifle, the M1A™ is a civilian-legal semi-auto version of that revered U.S. Military rifle that dominates the competition fields — and the heart of America. From 1959 to 1970, the M14 served with distinction as the standard issue rifle of the United States military after the revered M1 Garand. When Springfield Armory® made the civilian-legal variant in 1974, shooters across the land rejoiced. This particular rifle is original factory done in the Bush Rifle configuration. The bush rifle configuration has an 18" barrel with a long slotted flash suppressor with bayonet lug and a ventilated upper hand guard. The military aperture rear sight on the M1A™ Bush Rifle offers easy MOA adjustments without tools for both windage and elevation. This rifle has GI parts and a TRW rotating bolt. The included magazine has an "OM" stamped into it which indicates that it was made by Olin Mathieson Chemical Corporation (last photo circled area). This scarce rifle is in very good condition overall both mechanically and physically. Most bush rifles came with composite or folding stocks....this walnut configuration is hard to find. This fine Springfield M1A Bush Rifle would make a great addition to a collection or a very nimble shooter.
