One of, if not the hardest grade Browning Superposed guns to find, this fine shotgun was made in 1956 and was magnificently engraved with oak leaves, multiple game scenes and fabulous borders by the master himself, Felix Funken. The receiver was double signed by Funken once on each side. The round knob, long tang stock and forearm were made from finely figured walnut. Stock dimensions: LOP is 14 3/8” to the Browning butt plate with 1 7/16” DAC and 2 3/8” DAH. Neutral to very slight right-hand cast at the heal and about 3/8” right-hand cast at the toe. The 28” vent rib barrels have a Bradley style white front bead and an ivory mid bead. The barrels were originally choked FULL/FULL but have been fitted with Briley thin wall/flush choke tubes. Seven choke tubes and Briley speed wrench accompany the gun. Granted the Briley choke tubes will not initially enamour themselves to Browning collectors, but they do make this gun extremely versatile for upland game, skeet, sporting clays, Helice, 5-stand and other shooting disciplines. Weighs 7 lbs. 11 oz. Cased in a newer Browning luggage case. Condition wise, this gorgeous and rare Grade IV is 98%+ since professional restoration. Beautiful and rare Browning. $7,400.00 sn: 54735 SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
