Savage only made a handful of .25 ACP pistols, numbered examples usually in the 1000M-1020M serial range. This pistol, with original finish but devoid of the usual slide address and having no serial number, is likely a transition between the original group and the short run of later pistols with the fine slide serrations. Total production of all .25 caliber pistols is estimated at between 25-40. Synopsis: Extraordinarily rare Savage .25 pistol with the early, coarse slide serrations, this is a transitional prototype with no slide address and no serial number, rarely offered for sale. Condition: VG-EXC bright original blue, fading and fine scratches, as carefully photographed and as one might expect from a prototype gun. Bright bore with easily discernible rifling.
