Description: This rimfire semi-automatic rifle is a Winchester Repeating Arms Co Model 74 chambered in .22 Short. Winchester introduced the Model 74 (.22 Short only) in 1939. The serial number (53360) on this rifle dates it to the year of introduction, 1939. It has a top-of-the-receiver safety slide switch, a fixed silver beaded blade front sight, an adjustable ahead-of-receiver U-notch sight, the original Winchester Repeating Arms checkered steel butt plate with the port for the tube magazine, and a fat, round fore arm. The barrel and the receiver have a small amount of bluing finish remaining, but there are no observable rust, pitting or freckling. Numerous handling marks are observable throughout the stock, but there are no cracks or chips.
