Engraving is nice and sharp. Serial numbers are all matching. Back strap is inscribed “Ed. P. Alsbury". Research shows Captain Alsbury served in the 3rd Texas Infantry Co. H 1st Regiment (Luckett's Regt). Edward Plummer Alsbury would enlist as a Lt. on August 1st 1861 and muster out as a Captain on May 26th 1865. Captain Asbury would go on to author a fictional book, Guy Raymond: A Story of the Texas Revolution, based on his families experiences.
