J.C. Higgins Model 103.229 - Bolt Action Repeater .22 LR Rifle - Built by Marlin sold by Sears. Similar to the Marlin 81 DL - Smooth one piece pistol grip style stock with very good butt plate. 24 In. long barrel with open adj. rear sight and a front bead sight. Receiver grooved for scope. Includes a Wesco model 3x9x32 withscope rings and clear lens. Tubular magazine will accept 24 Short , 20 Long and 18 LR ammo. Bore is clean and bright. Barrel and receiver are retaining aoprox. 85% bluing. Stock and forend are in very good condition with minimal handling marks. The overall condition of this rifle is very good considering it's age. Manufactured from 1940 to 1970. Rare find J.C. Higgins stamped with Sears model number. Great addition to any collection.
