Description:
Serial #43145, .22 LR, 6" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This revolver is based on the frame of the WW2 era, .38 Webley/Enfield revolvers and features a long blade front sight mated to a windage-adjustable target rear sight, mounted on the thumb-lever. The frame, barrel, and cylinder have matching numbers, and the metal retains 98-99% of the original blue finish, with crisp factory markings and Birmingham proofs. The checkered Vulcanite grips are in excellent shape with only a few minor handling marks and minor blemishes. The lock-up is tight, and the action functions flawlessly. The book Canadian Military Handguns 1855-1895 by Clive Law, Pg 42, Fig 51,52 notes SN 43131. The Canadian Army ordered 25 of these revolvers for rec. use just before the outbreak off the war. This piece shows the Canadian "C Broad Arrow" on the butt. This is an excellent example of a rare variant of the Webley .22 revolver, and would make a great addition to any collection. FFL or C&R
