New items added daily! Description: This is a rare, early Mauser C96 Broomhandle rig with conehammer feature, one of ~13,000 produced. This pistol dates to 1897-98, and qualifies as an antique. It comes with the original, matching numbered stock. This is an interesting pistol as it is fitted with a matching Bolo-style upper barrel/extension and grooved 1000 meter rear sight normally seen on the early large ring Bolos, the remaining components of standard conehammer style including the bolt. It is possible that the original upper may have been damaged and the gun was sent back to the factory for repair or that the conehammer frame was used in a sort of parts cleanup in the early 1900s. Nearly all numbered parts of the pistol match, including the original grips. The locking block is mismatched but has a serial close to this one. The left grip panel does have a blank metal plate on it, perhaps for later personalization that wasn't later completed. The bluing on the pistol is original and shows very little finish loss, but there is some pitting on the front grip strap and oxidation on both sides of the barrel and mag well. The bore is generally clean but the rifling shows some smoothing. The original stock is still in good condition, with no major cracks or chips. There is a thin surface crack on one side but it does not cause any separation in the wood. SOLD Antique: Yes Handgun Caliber: 7.63x25mm Mauser (30 Mauser) |
