Outstanding 1915 (2nd year of production) Savage Deluxe Model 1899 lightweight take-down rifle (serial # 169568) in 250-3000, built to introduce the new 250-3000 Savage caliber. The early introduction 1899 models were the first to offer all of the most popular special order features, which included a checkered trigger (the only time this special trigger was offered), a "mirror gloss blued" receiver and lever boss, a capped, checkered and wider "perch belly" pistol grip stock, lightweight 22" rapid taper take-down barrel, with 1/4 turn removal, and a curved lever with a rounded end. This not often seen 1899 remains in excellent plus condition with a good bore. I believe the barrel has not been removed until this listing, very tight.
