Description:
The 788 was developed by Remington to compete with certain inexpensive rifle brands. It features 9 rear locking lugs which allowed for easy headspace adjustment, as well as a very short bolt-throw, a 60 degree bolt rotation, and a shorter ejection port. The sum total resulted in a receiver that was inherently a bit stronger than the norm and produced quite good accuracy. This one has the shorter 18-1/2 inch carbine barrel and date to 1980. .243 Winchester

Metal Condition: Good to very good.There is some wear around the muzzle and some shallow rust on trigger guard plate.
Wood Condition: "Good to very good. There are no really bad scrapes, but there are quite a few shallow ones on the bottom of the stock, especially near the magazine port and the stock toe.
Bore Condition: Shiny and bright with good rifling.
Barrels: 18-1/2 inch
Triggers: Factory trigger.
