The Winchester Model 53 was an attempt to modernize the model 92 with button magazine and shorter barrel. Made from 1924 until 1932 with about 25,000 produced, this one dates to 1926. .32-20 WCF

Metal Condition: The receiver shows little original finish and has three extra holes drilled and tapped for a side mount scope or aperture sight. Several screw heads show marring.
Wood Condition: "The buttstock appears to be a replacement as observed by the less than factory fitment however, it is in good condition.
