And also consdered the finest and bes gun made at the time by any maker, even boss and Purdy. It is in marvelous restored condition by Ted Dye who was head of the machine shop at Los Alamos National Laboratory. It was very popular. Scott made 1500 of them from 1878 to 1888. Top rib is engraved: “W&C SCOTT & SON, PATENT TRIPLEX LEVER GRIP (THE PRIMERIE QUALITY H) 10 GT CASTLE STREET REGENT CIRCLE, LONDON”. This beautiful gun is in perfect working order, ready for the field or clays. The exquisite fine scroll engraving is sharp, and the action has been beautifully recase colored. The fine Damascus barrels are a dark chocolate brown and have perfect bores with London black powder proof for nitro powder. The new fiddleback stock has very good wood to metal fit and is beautifully checkered 22 lpe in a point pattern. It measures: DC- 1 ½”, DH – 2 ½”, LOP – 14 ½”. This was one of the most advanced designed guns on the market at the time with double under lugs and a 3rd crossbolt fastener, the new Scott spindle, and hammerless back action locks. It has 2 5/8” chambers, and barrels are choked full (0.032”) left and modified (0.020") right.
