Description:
Winchester 1873 rifle with 24" octagon barrel,full magazine tube,crescent butt and cleaning kit in buttstock.Appears to have all its original parts and the lettering on the barrel and receiver are crisp and do not appear to have been refinished.Overall finish is patina with light surface rust that would clean off(it is in as found condition,we did not clean it,except for running a patch through the bore).Bore is dark with good rifling and minor pitting.Wood stock has several tight cracks(my guess is from the wood drying out the last 140 years).Gun was made in 1883.Mechanically gun is in good plus condition with no excess play,except for the dust cover.I am guessing this gun is chambered for 44-40,but its not marked anywhere.Serial number is 114681A.Has 3 folding leafs on rear sight.Ask any questions as I know little about these models.Will add actual shipping by USPS incl . insurance.Price is for cashiers ck.,add 4% for cards.
