The Springfield Armory Standard Issue M1A is a timelessly effective design, but sometimes circumstances call for something just a little bit shorter. The M1A Scout Squad rifle is 100% M1A, but with the 6-groove 1:11" twist carbon steel barrel trimmed back to 18". A forward scout-style Picatinny rail accepts the kind of both-eyes-open long-eye-relief optics that maximize the performance of this platform. Featuring military aperture sights with 1-MOA adjustments and a rugged black composite stock, this compact rifle runs great on the hunt, from a vehicle, or around the farm. This M1A Scout Squad is topped with a US Optics SN-12 rifle scope. The US Optics SN-12 was purpose designed and built as a combat optic. It is not a hunting scope adapted to tactical scenarios by changing knobs and reticles. Maximum durability and brute strength construction ensure that this scope will stand the beating a combat optic will be subjected to. Fixed 4X magnification allows the shooter to realize enormous field of view as well as the precision needed for the occasional long shot. Unique features of the SN-12 include rectangular tube construction and integral Picatinney rail mount. Scope can be moved from one weapon system to another in seconds. The M1A paired with the SN-12 is a great combination that allows for fast close target acquisition, while still allowing for precision at distance.
