Description:
32-1/2 inch round barrel that has been cleaned smooth and has an old gray patina. Correct sights and ramrod. Lock is dated 1863 and breech block is dated 1869. Matching 10,XXX serial numbers on barrel and breech. Generally a darker gray patina on other metal parts. Stock cartouche visible. Wood has usual nicks and dings but has a great wood-to-metal fit overall. Armory markings on comb of stock say something like "1G/NG/8," possibly a reference to The National Guard. Neat old gun with a lot of history.
