Description:
This is a USED Remington Model 1100 chambered in 12 gauge and features a 28" barrel. It was manufactured in the early 1980s and still has the original bluing and wood checkered stocks in overall Excellent condition. The model 1100 was introduced in 1963 as a successor to the Model 58 and Model 878 gas operated shotguns. This shotgun is credited with establishing the era of the reliable, highly successful gas operated autoloading shotguns. In fact the Remington 1100 remains one of the best-selling semi-automatic shotguns in US history. Additionally, in 1978, it set the semi-automatic shotgun record for most shells fired without cleaning, malfunction or parts at 24,000 rounds.The 1100 is a spiritual descendant of the earlier Remington 11 and Remington 11-48 model lines. The Model 1100 debuted in 12-gauge. The rugged 1100 distinguished itself early on as one of the first semi-automatic shotguns to reduce recoil significantly while being lightweight and reliable making this is a historically great shotgun for bird/small game hunting. 12 Gauge
