***SOLD*** One of the most difficult of the coveted Pre Wars to find in a clean and unmolested condition, here is a beautiful example of an early Model 70 in 300 Magnum (300 H&H) with all the right stuff: Rust blued barrel, polished carbonum blued receiver, undrilled rear receiver bridge, ultra crisp mechanics, etc. S/N 13067 with matching bolt made in 1938. 97% condition throughout with only light handling marks and a few scattered light scratches on the barrel. The wood shows a nice dark honey color often seen on these earlier guns, with the finer line and perfectly executed checkering. 26" barrel with an excellent bore, it is stamped simply "300 Magnum" since this was the only one in existence at the time! Barrels were later stamped 300 H&H to avoid confusion with subsequent 300 caliber Magnums. As stated earlier, the mechanics are smooth and crisp and functioning as intended. A very sharp and difficult to find rifle!
