Description:
LC Smith, Maker, Syracuse, NY #10161 (ca. 1886)

This L C Smith Maker E Grade hammer gun Is in excellent condition and was one of about 5000 hammer guns made on Brown’s rotary bolt patent during Smith’s ownership (1884-1887). This is one grade above field grade and has a burst of scroll engraving on each side-plate and on the trigger bow like the D grade made after Hunter Bros bought the company in 1887. It has survived in great condition - ca. 95%. The 30” Damascus barrels have perfect bores. The original finish is about 80% case colors, 98% varnish, and 90% Damascus pattern on the fine Damascus barrels which are bored IC and modified.  Unfortunately, someone added a 1” thick rubber pad about 1955.  LOP is 14 ½”, DC is 2”, and DH is 3”.
