SK CUSTOMS® PRESENTS PART III IN THE GODS OF OLYMPUS ENGRAVERS SERIES WITH - ARES
SK Customs presents “Ares,” the third creation in the Gods of Olympus engraver series. As a guaranteed collector’s item, a limited-edition production of only 200 custom model Smith & Wesson Full Size 1911 pistols chambered in 45 ACP were built for SK Customs.
Ares, known as the Greek god of war and courage, is one of the prominent and recognized Olympians. Son of Zeus, Ares embodies the physical valor for war and can also personify sheer brutality and bloodlust. An association with Ares endows places, objects, and other deities with a savage, dangerous, or militarized quality.
Using our proprietary highly reflective conversion technique SK Customs brings out a fiery tone exposed from the steel and uses 24k gold to highlight the attributes of Ares in scenes of battle and power.
The serrations are deeply etched to symbolize faults and cracks in the earth’s crust during battle.
Driven by jealousy, Ares changes himself into a raging wild boar and killed Adonis, destroying his love with Aphrodite.
The vulture was a bird of ill omen. Because it haunted the battlefield feeding upon the bodies of the dead, it was closely associated with the war-god Ares
To exalt some of Ares’ powers SK Customs showcase his shield, spear and Spartan helmet throughout the pistol.
The grips are made of Kirinite® and have been engraved with the Greek Key border, featuring Ares in battle armor, and the Vulture and Dog which symbolize loyalty and protection.
Each collector of Ares will receive a special issued commemorative silver coin that features the marks of the Bank of Greece in Athens, the year of production and a profile of the Goddess Athena on one side and a depiction of Ares charging into battle on the opposite side. Each coin comes in a protective case which is set inside an elegant black velvet coin box labeled in silver with the “God of Olympus- Ares” logo art.
