W.J. Jefferey SXS Sidelock in 12 Gauge. This shotgun has 28-inch barrels with swamped game rib. Barrel flats stamped w/ Birmingham nitro proofs for 2 1/2" chambers & Birmingham reproofs also for 2 1/2". Top lever action fitted w/ back spring; peninsula locks w/ rnd. bodied serpentine rebounding hammers. Action & locks engraved w/ 30% coverage varying size scroll w/in line & scroll borders. "W. Jeffery & Son" is on each plate. Straight grip buttstock of well figured & lightly streaked European walnut measures 14 5/8" over brown leather covered pad. Point pattern checkering is at grip & a vacant silver oval is on toeline. Matching splinter forend has spring tension release. MEASUREMENTS: barrels.: bore diameter: right: .735", left: .729". Restriction: right: .014" (MOD), left: .011" (IC). Minimum Wall Thickness: right: .035", left: .040". STOCK: DAH: 1 7/8". DAC: 1 7/16". LOP: 14 5/8". CAST: 0. WEIGHT: 6 lbs. 13 oz. CONDITION: good as partially refinished. Barrels. w/ nearly all of an old good quality reblack. Action & locks cleaned to pewter gray. Top lever & trigger guard reblued. Engraving quite washed out. Stocks retain nearly all of an old oil refinish w/ scattered marks. Checkering recut. Bores are bright & shiny. Action is tight. Barrels. somewhat off face. Locks are good. 12 Gauge
