SERIAL NUMBER 38982 BARREL 5" CALIBER 45 ACP MANUFACTURED 1913 BY COLT FOR US NAVY. Blue finished with right side of slide marked "MODEL 1911 U.S. NAVY" Left side of slide has tradition 2 line Colt address with Rampant Colt at left rear tab. Checkered diamond pattern walnut grips, flat mainspring housing long smooth trigger short wide hammer short spur 1911 grip safety and lanyard loop magazine. Very few pistols were produced by Colt for the US navy and are quite rarely ever offered for sale. CONDITION.Very Good as refinished. Correct h p marked barrel. The bore is good with slight frosting grooves. The grips are very good with slight wear but remain full sized. The markings and legends remain crisp and legible. A rare chance to add a very scarce low production model of the historic Colt 1911. Colt archives letter ordered and will go with pistol.
