B. Halliday & Co. Ltd. 63 Cannon Street, London.
Four-Ten Bore, 26” barrels. Chambers are London Proofed at 2 ½”. Extractor, and Double Triggers. Factory chocked Right IC. And Left Full. Date of mfg. Circa 1954. Serial # 2040. This is a very limited production gun in .410 bore. References indicate that less than 20 guns were made in this boring. The company ran from around the turn of the century under a couple of Halliday family members until the mid-1960’s. When at this time it was sold and renamed Greenfields.
There is little on this maker from that time period forward. Sketchy records indicate that perhaps a few guns were made during the mid-1960’s. Stock dimensions: Straight Grip, to a classic British checkered butt. 1, 5/8” DAC. 2, 5/8” DAH, and 14, 5/8” LOP. Weight: This gem tips the scales at 4# 8.2 oz. It balances on the hinge pin, and swings like a true solid bird gun, not a flimsy toy!
