Description:
Winchester 1873 Rifle Third Model, chambered in .44-40. Features include: round barrel, 15 shot tube mag., crescent butt plate, iron frame with sideplates, adj. rear sight, oil finished stock and forearm with forearm caps, dust cover rail integral with frame, blue finish. Wood is in good condition despite some scuff marks and loss of finish here and there. Butt plate has some corrosion present. Lever mechanics work very well as does the hammer. Bluing is present on the frame despite some turning to brown patina where it was most likely held a lot. Barrel has most bluing present though there is a decent spot of corrosion on the right side around the rear sights. Bore is in very good shape and clean. Manufacture date according to Winchester's webiste is 1911 .44-40 Winchester
