EXCEPTIONALLY HARD TO FIND 1885 LOWALL WINDER MUSKET IN LIMITED PRODUCTION .22 LONG RIFLE (NOT SHORT) CHAMBERING, #123XXX, MADE 1918. Almost all of these Lowall Winder Muskets were made in .22 Short with very few special order rifles made in .22 Long Rifle. This example, made during the last year of World War I is unaltered and retains the correct Lyman receiver sight. The barrel and receiver retain nearly all the original blue with just the lightest of edge wear and some age to the barrel blue. Exc. markings and tight action. Excellent stock and forend have not been sanded or refinished. There are some light marks on each side of the forend by the groove that may be from this rifle being in a rest- minor. Sling swivels intact. Bore is bright with some light corrosion in one small area in the middle that may scrub out better. I've only seen a couple of these in the last decades and this is by far the best.
