***MINTY ***m1836 R. Johnson Flintlock pistol (UNISSUED?)...1841 Date....LAYAWAY?
.54 caliber. 8.5" barrel length. SN: NSN. National Armory Bright finish with iron furniture. Walnut stock. Flintlock pistol with notch and brass blade sights. Item features a swivel ramrod and iron mountings. Markings include US/R.JOHNSON/MIDDN CONN/1841 to center of lockplate and US/JH/P to top of barrel. There is an E to right side of trigger, and three small H proof marks to triggerguard, barrel, and stock. Stock shows two circled JH Joseph Hannis and W.A.T. William A. Thornton inspector cartouches to left side. Item is without flint. Pistol remains in original flint with a fine lock with matching assembly marks throughout and a pristine breech with no indications of any reconversion or modifications.

Condition:
NEAR MINT. Bore is bright, with some light scattered oxidation. Finish is bright overall with nice markings. Wood to metal fit is good overall. Stock has some scattered light impressions.
