Description:
32-1/2 inch round barrel chambered in 45-70 caliber with a bright minty bore. Original sights include a blade front and Buffington rifle-style rear. Overall metal retains 95% original blue finish protected in some spots by dried grease. Vivid darkening case colors on breech block and tang."1884" marking on breech block is a little light. Very good wood fits well with a few bruises. Excellent vivid stock cartouche dated "1890" also "P" in a circle on bottom of stock. Correct buttplate retains most blue. Three sling swivels. "US" marked bayonet and cleaning rod included. Crisp mechanics. Overall a great example of an 1884 Trapdoor rifle! 479,XXX serial range.
