Description:
This is a neat COLT 1911 Pistol that was issued to the USMC. Serial No. 627995. Produced in 1919. Toward the very end of 1911 production. This gun is listed in SPRINGFIELD RESEARCH AS BEING SHIPPED (OR IN) CHINA (SHANGHAI) ON 03/AUGUST/1928. Mostly they were the MARINES at our Embassy and Police Protection. At the start of WWII, the Marines (200 some) at the embassy were taken prisoners by the Japs and made slave labor for the war. This gun has all original parts. The bore has good rifling, but some light frosting in the grooves. Action is good. Straps have finish loss. This gun was carried and used. Marine Corps 1911's are rare to begin with, but to find one with a history is a added bonus. I've seen NO FINISH USMC's bring 13-14K. Please call 973-214-3407 with questions. FFL please
