US SMITH-CORONA Model 1903A3 .30-06 Caliber Bolt Action C&R MILITARY Rifle

Syracuse, New York Manufactured w/ SLING & BAYONET

Here we present a C&R U.S. Smith-Corona Model 1903A3 Bolt Action Infantry Rifle, made in 1943 in Syracuse, New York. The 1903A3 rifle had a production run from 1903 through 1949 with over 3,000,000 produced. Early during World War II, Smith-Corona shifted away from making typewriters to producing Model 1903A3 Springfield Rifles with the assistance from Remington Arms and High Standard Manufacturing Company. Smith-Corona produced a total of 234,580 rifles during the course of the war.

The overall condition is fine. Robust and smooth action. The bore is bright throughout. Solid stock contains less than average wear and a “SA” cartouche on the left buttstock. “3-43” dated barrel. The markings are sharp. This example includes a canvas sling and bayonet with scabbard!
