This gun has many documents related to Mr. Darby such as Marriage license, pay stub from his Civil War service etc. On the opposite side of the frame is engraved with the Eagle Banner. The top has the Eagle Shield. Receiver is sparsely engraved with the style of engraving of the Civil War. Receiver is an untouched butterscotch patina. Good functioning action. 11,500 serial range and all matching throughout. Original Henry flip up rear sight and typical inlaid front sight. Barrel has sharp corners and good address. Traces of blue in protected areas. Springs function correctly. Wood has a considerable amount of original finish with the Henry bump visible. Brass buttplate. This is a nice original Henry.
