Description: SOLD....Antique Rare Smith & Wesson New Model 1 ½ with the short 2 3/4” barrel. Here is a very scarce Smith & Wesson 1 ½ with the short 2 3/4” barrel with the barrel address on the left side of the barrel. Also in the harder to find blue finish. Most you will find are nickel plated if you find one at all !! Caliber is .32 Long rim fire of course. S/N is 87160 with matching assembly numbers on the barrel and cylinder. This one is out of my personal collection. This little gun has some nice factory blue finish remaining. The mechanics are excellent. Crisp and tight as a new gun. NO cylinder wobble side to side and NO front to rear cylinder movement at all. Locks up with no cylinder movement what so ever.. Rock solid barrel to frame lock up also and is not loose like most all of these you will find. Markings are excellent. The barrel has about 60% bright blue.. A little more on the right side than the left as you can see. The cylinder had worn to a medium brown patina with some surface crud. The cylinder chambers have most all of the bright blue inside them. This gun was carried much more than it was fired !! The frame has about 40% bright but thinning blue including the front and rear grip straps. There are some very light scratches from some very light cleaning that you can see if held at the right angle in good lighting. Nothing harsh at all has been done. Probably just cleaned up some surface crud. The hammer has just traces of case colors. The under the barrel case ejector rod has about 60% case colors with the more protected areas next to the barrel showing bright and vivid case colors. Very seldom do you see any case colors on this part unless the gun has been fired very little. The bore is excellent. Bright and shiny with just a few small specks that will probably clean out.. There is still some blue inside the bore also. This gun could not have been fired very much.. The grips are excellent as well. No cracks or chips and still retain about 85% original varnish. The screw heads are sharp and crisp with no tool marks at all. This little gun has never been messed with. Excellent untouched front sight. This is a very nice tight and crisp gun with some nice blue finish for the money. If you are a collector of these small pocket pistols from Smith & Wesson, this one should get your attention.. A rare gun by itself and being blue instead of nickel is another premium. Don't miss this one !!! Call 765-728-8049 with any questions or more photos. I like to write complete and detailed descriptions but if I missed something please let me know.. I want happy customers.. Probably $25 insured shipping on this one. SOLD Antique: Yes |
