Of these only about 26,000 to 30,000 were issued without government markings making this gun quite scarce. In addition, due to its early manufacture, there is a good chance it actually saw war use with a state militia or private sale to an officer. This is a four screw model, made to accommodate a shoulder stock. It has an 8 inch barrel and all matching numbers including the wedge. The cylinder naval scene is ther but light. there is some pitting on the barrel and light freckling at its base. It has an overall pleasing plum brown color and shows well.
