OUTSTANDING MARLIN 1893, TAKE DOWN, CAL. .30-30-, SER. 220276, 26" BARREL, MFG.1901. THIS 122-YEAR-OLD SPECIAL ORDER MARLIN IS TRULY OUSTANDING. THE GUN'S RECEIVER HAS RETAINED ABOUT 35-40% 0F THE ORIGINAL CASE COLORS. THE LOSS IS PRIMARILY DUE TO AGING. THIS IS VERY COMMON ON TURN OF A CENTURY GUN. THE BLUED OCTAGONAL BARREL, MAGAZINE TUBE, AND BARREL BAND HAVE RETAINED ABOUT 85-90% 0F THE ORIGINAL FACTORY FINISH. THE LITTLE LOSS THERE IS, IS DUE TO SOME SLIGHT EDGE SILVERING THERE ARE NO RUST PATCHES OR RUB MARKS. THE TANG HAS HAD A SCARCE MARBLE TANG SIGHT INSTALLED. THE THE FOREARM AND AND BUTT STOCK STILL HAVE ABOUT 85_90% 0F THE ORIGINAL LACQUER. THERE ARE NO SPLITS, DINGS OR MISSING CHIPS. THE COMB HAS BEEN NOTCHED SLIGHTLY TO ACCOMADATE THE FOLDED TANG SIGHT. THE BUTT PLATE HAS ACQUIRED AND NICE SILVER GRAY PATINA. THE BORE DOES SHOW MODEST USE, HOWEVER, IT IS QUITE BRIGHT WITH STRONG SHARP RIFLING. THIS SCARCE BEAUTY CERTAINLY DESERVES A SPECIAL SPOT IN THE COLLECTION AND WOULD BE GREAT FUN AT THE CAMP.
