Description: This very early (1948) five-screw third model K-22 Masterpiece six round revolver is a Smith & Wesson Pre-Model 17 chambered in .22 Long Rifle. It has a 6" pinned barrel, a recessed fluted cylinder, a six-groove forestrap and backstrap, a 6-groove serrated ramp Patridge front sight, an adjustable square notch blade rear sight, a checkered knob ejector rod, a serrated trigger, and checkered walnut stocks with S&W monograms and diamond around the screw escutcheon. Matching serial number on stock, frame and cylinder. The bluing is in fair condition with significant loss around the muzzle and some thinning overall, but with no rust or freckling observable. The walnut Magna stocks are in good condition, with some minor handling marks and wear, but with no chips nor cracks observable. This classic Smith & Wesson .22 caliber target revolver had its beginnings way back in the early 1930s and is now discontinued, yet it is still an extremely popular item among both shooters and collectors. A more accurate .22 wheel gun has never been made, and S&W was entirely correct in calling it a "Masterpiece." .22 Long Rifle SOLD Chambers: 6-round cylinder Metal Condition: "Bluing is in fair condition with significant loss around the muzzle and some thinning overall, but with no rust or freckling observable Wood Condition: "Wood stocks are in good condition, with some minor handling marks and wear, but with no chips nor cracks observable Barrels: "6"" pinned barrel, recessed fluted cylinder Triggers: Serrated trigger Stock Dimensions: 11" overall length Fore End: Checkered knob ejector rod Butt Pad: Checkered walnut stocks with S&W monograms and diamond around the screw escutcheon Weight: 2 lb 6 oz Sights: "6-groove serrated ramp Patridge front sight, adjustable square notch blade rear sight Item Location: Wichita, KS |
