Description: Serial #4828, .32 Rim Fire, 3 inch octagonal barrel with a bright, very good to near excellent bore with strong rifling and a small pit near the muzzle and several smaller ones near the breech. This is a seldom-seen all case color hardened frame XL Double Action revolver manufactured by Hopkins & Allen Manufacturing company prior to 1896 when it became the Hopkins & Allen Arms company. The beautiful revolver has several special order features including the finish, and hinged cover loading plate. It remains in excellent condition with the barrel retaining 95-98% of the original high polish blue and the cylinder showing about 75-80%. The frame, trigger guard and hammer show about 90-95% of the original case-hardened color ranging from vibrant to smoky gray with some isolated areas of freckling and pinprick pitting. The diamond center checkered hard rubber grips are scratch numbered on the right scale to the gun and remain in excellent condition. Mechanically it functions properly in both single and double action with tight lock up. A beautiful example of a seldom-seen Hopkins & Allen revolver in very high, original condition.
