This is the Colt New Line first model revolver identified by the short cylinder flutes and outside cylinder stop slots manufactured in 1873, the first year of production. The flat sided pocket revolver is marked on two lines on the barrel top "COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG. CO./HARTFORD,CT. U.S.A." In excellent plus condition the metal surfaces retain about 93-95% of the original bright nickel finish with loss due to flaking on the cylinder and tiny marks around the center frame screw. The hammer shows much of the original nitre blue and the grips rate about excellent, hand numbered on the right panel to the gun showing light handling and use marking with wear to the original finish. Mechanically it functions properly with correct timing, holding at half and full cock with a crisp trigger pull. An excellent example of this very desirable little first year Colt. Antique.
