Description:
Remington collectors this very rare Remington Model 34 NRA is in excellent condition.  It is the nicest one that I have ever seen.  Metal, wood, and bore are in excellent condition.

History

The Remington Model 34 is a bolt-action rifle that was manufactured by Remington Arms from 1932 until 1935.  It is a conventional bolt-action, tube fed rifle. Though conventional in layout and design, the Model 34 and 341 feature a patented lifter mechanism that presents cartridges to the chamber without the bullet touching rear of the chamber. This prevents damage to the bullet and conceivably increases accuracy potential.  Remington updated the Model 34 and the Model 341 replaced it in the product line.

The Model 34 NRA variant had the same specs as the standard model except that it featured a Patridge front and Lyman 55R aperture sight. It was also fitted with a sling for carrying the rifle.  Sleek and vaguely reminiscent of vintage military rifles, Remington’s Model 34 bolt-action rimfire is an uncommon—and uncommonly accurate—rifle.  When handled, a Model 34 NRA in nice condition oozes class and history. The walnut stock is slender and svelte, well configured for hard use yet classy and sleek, too. A perfectly fitted steel buttplate protects the butt. Deep finger grooves reminiscent of those in the M1903 grace each side of the fore-end. No swivel studs or loops for a carrying strap are present; this responsive, beautifully balanced rifle was meant to be carried in the hands.
