Out of my personal collection I have decided to sell me Stephen Grant & Sons 28 bore. If you are into English side-by-side shotguns you know that finding a 28 gauge gun with decent shootable dimensions can be a real challenge. Most of these guns were built for ladies or young shooters and so they usually came with short barrels and short stocks. This particular gun came to me with barrels having nice length of 28 inches but a length of pull at only 13-1/4". This gun was so special I decided to make it a project to bring the gun back to life and make it so i could shoot it. The gun was first sent to Jim Eyster at Heritage Guns and he blacked the barrels, disassembled the action and cleaned it. Then is was sent to Mark Larson who cut off the checkered butt, inserted a piece of walnut and then reattached the original checkered butt. After the butt was attached he stained and grained the added piece of wood. You would never know the work was done to the stock and if I didn't tell you, you would never know it was done. Now you have a gun with stock dimensions of 1 1/2 X 2 3/8 X 14 7/8 over the original checkered butt with original flat top checkering just as it left Grant's shop. Stock has slight cast off for the right hand shooter. This little gem weighs in at 5 pounds 1 ounce with perfect balance just ahead of the hinge pin. Bore dimensions in these 28 inch barrels are .554 both right and left barrels with constrictions of .002 in the right and .011 in the left. The forend is a very tiny splinter with an Anson release latch. Ejectors are strong and well timed. Chambers measure 2 5/8 inches both barrels. Stock has original initial shield engraved with CEE as shown in the pictures. I love the engraving and the carved fences. Wood to metal fit on this gun are as good as you will see on any Purdey, Boss, or Holland and Holland. In short, this is just a special gun. Price of this little 28 is $7500 plus $50 shipping to your FFL. As always there is a three day inspection period with the buyer paying shipping charges if returned.
